Technology
EcoWear introduces a groundbreaking approach to denim production by using innovative technology to reduce water usage, eliminate harmful chemicals, and lower energy consumption—all while maintaining the classic look and feel of denim.
Ring Dye Effect
The ring dye effect, where only the yarn's surface is dyed while the core remains white, gives denim its iconic wash and fade look. Synthetic indigo naturally achieves this due to its low fiber affinity, making it essential for traditional denim production. Preserving this effect is vital for maintaining denim’s signature aesthetic while adopting sustainable dyeing methods.

Cationizer
EcoWear enables the use of negatively charged reactive dyes by treating cotton yarn with a cationizer to give its surface a positive charge. This creates a strong bond between the dye and the yarn’s surface, leaving the core undyed and achieving the iconic ring dye effect. We provide pre-treated fabric that ensures sustainability while maintaining denim’s classic look.

Reactive Dyes
EcoWear's cationizer-treated fabric enables the use of reactive dyes rather than synthetic indigo. Due to the strong electrostatic force of attraction between the yarn and the dye, toxic fixing and oxidizing agents like Sodium Hydrosulphite are eliminated from the dyeing process. This creates a cleaner, more sustainable dyeing process while maintaining denim’s iconic ring dye effect.
